One of the biggest surprises for me about the occupy movement is how many times I have heard our politicians say….. “We don’t know what they want” .
Our premier in British Columbia, Christy Clark, just said it the other day.
This seems very odd to me. Do they honestly not get it? Or are they trying to frame the issue in a dismissive way? (Are they saying…..The occupy people must be stupid because they don’t even know what it is they want?)
I can’t believe that Christy Clark doesn’t get it. There is a world movement going on around the world and it is happening for many reasons. Our society is breaking down in every way. Our institutions and governments are going broke. There is social unrest on a massive scale around the globe and Christy Clark says she doesn’t get it.
I think it is time that she and all the other politicians do get it because the world is ripping apart at the seams and they had better grab the bull by the horns and try to do something about it. The system has failed us. Greed…derivatives, lending, printing money, ….. the logic that every year a company has to sell “more” or it is not considered a good year. The Canadian government still charges interest on a young man’s student loan who was diagnosed with mental illness and is unable to work. The loan keeps growing unless he makes his payments. Students come out of school with huge student loans. They are also told to pay for the past generations excesses. And Christy Clark and other government leaders say she doesn’t know why they are out there!
The world is on the edge of an economic abyss and we are about to roll into it. War breaking out all over the map is guaranteed as groups start to blame each other and things unravel.
It is time our politicians woke up.
