One of the biggest surprises for me about the occupy movement is how many times I have heard our politicians say….. “We don’t know what they want” . For several years now, I have wanted to encourage young people to take to the streets and demand changes to the power structure of our governments. This movement is long over due. Letter to the Editor: City Taxes It is discouraging to hear our city leaders suggest that the salvation to our tax problems might be to encourage a casino in the heart of our city.
I can’t imagine a more stupid mistake than that being made by Peter MacKay, Canada’s current defense minister as he blunders into the civil war in Libya. Dear Mr. Prime minister I would like to create an exciting, colourfull art project on the breakwater here in Victoria BC. The prime minister of Canada, Steven Harper, doesn’t have an original thought in his head. He clearly takes his cues from the US government on what to do and say. It is no surprise that he is going to drag Canada further into the sand pit of Afghanistan and waste further billions of dollars of [...] Canada finds itself in an economic mess and neither the Liberals or the Conservatives will get us out of this. The cost of the war in Afghanistan has been put at twenty four billion dollars…..accounting for almost half of our current deficit. The conservatives were eager to plunge us into this war. For the [...] Afghanistan and Ultramarine Blue There is an ancient story about when God made the world he had bits of rubbish and broken parts left over. The jagged pieces would not fit anywhere else and so he just threw those down and that formed Afghanistan. |
