Love the imagery and sentiment in your work. It captures the rural life of farming work, beauty, rest, and peace. With just enough shadow. This is a wonderful addition to our small town of Sooke. And I hope you’re entering the Sooke Fine Arts Show. I’m just returning to painting after a long break and looking for teachers or mentors to support my practice. Do you offer individual or group instruction?

    Hi Janet
Thank you so much for the kind words. Much appreciated.
I have entered the Sooke Fine art show several times in the past and am always struck by the amazing job they do to make it a successful show.
Great people involved who do a ton of work every time.
I can’t enter this year as I am swamped with so much on my plate. But maybe another year.
I hope you do get back into painting again. I took a fair bit of time off myself and I know how exciting it can be to get back into it again.
I don’t do instruction really. I do paint outdoors and perhaps by mid summer, you could join me at a beach near Sooke and we could just paint if that idea suited you. Send me an e mail at and we could do that. My grandson Clifford (3yrs) and my wife Elizabeth might be with me as well.
In the meantime, you take care
