NATO states it is willing to bomb world heritage site (Roman ruins)

NATO announced that it is quite willing to bomb a world heritage site in Libya.
Interesting that by the end of Tuesday, NATO or CNN has retracted that statement.The CNN link I had posted earlier is clearly a different story now.
It now reports ……..”Separately, NATO refused to say Tuesday whether it would bomb ancient Roman ruins in Libya if it knew Gadhafi was hiding military equipment there.”
(The earlier story by CNN left no doubt whatsoever that a NATO spokesperson had made the statement that they “would” most definitely be willing to bomb the heritage site.
I believe that NATO simply backed down after realizing how insane the idea was. I also think that CNN owes it’s readers an explanation for the change.
I’m not at all surprised by NATO’s willingness to bomb a world heritage site. They have already proved their incompetence and stupidity by thinking they can bomb the people to save the village.
And guess what…….Surprise… their war adventure isn’t going well at all. We now have over a million refugees on the run and God knows how many civilian deaths caused by their use of five thousand pound bombs. And what about the depleted uranium in those bunker busting bombs? The cancer rates are guaranteed to soar as they did in Iraq. But what does NATO care? Their egos are at stake. They would rather try and prove that somehow they are still “Relevant”. (Maybe they are always facing the fact of being irrelevant because they are actually irrelevant)
I would like to know why offers of a brokered cease fire were not even considered by NATO. Instead..there seemed to be one headlong rush into dropping bombs at a million dollars a pop.
Again. Why do we do this?
