“Shadows and Light”

I was really pleased with how the Shadows and Light painting turned out. It has a certain darkness that I like and a mystery that is somehow very personal. It was based on one of my many visits to Gonzales Bay here in Victoria BC. It is not a realistic version of reality. Just inspired by the shapes and houses set along the slopes of the Bay. I see shapes and respond to them. I see shadows and light. It is a small painting for an intimate space. It is about people and their closeness to each other. Some people enjoy being more obvious and out there…. and some people who enjoy sitting in the shadows.
