The USS New York…..

I see that the USS New York battleship has entered New York Harbor and given a twenty one gun salute near the site of 911. This battleship was constructed using some of the steel from the twin towers. I honestly can’t imagine a worse use for the steel from the towers or for the memory of those who lost their lives there. I can’t imagine a more ugly transformation. It screams of hate and revenge. I think of the tens of thousands of innocent people who have been killed from America’s attacks on Iraq and Afghanistan and I pray that their surviving families and friends don’t ever take their revenge out on us by taking their tangled steel and making it into instruments of war to seek revenge on us. Is this what Gandhi would have done? I thought most of respected his ideas of peace. So why do these fools line the docks of New York and praise this evil instrument that inflicts pain and agony on other people. Wouldn’t it have been so much better if the steel had been used to build something beautiful such as a building for art or for hospitals to make people well.
