Gen David Petraeus…..Problems

Gen. David Petraeus has said that trying to train the soldiers of the Afghanistan army  is like trying to design and build an aeroplane while it is in flight, and while it is being shot at. I believe him. What I can’t understand is why he thinks it is possible to design and build an aeroplane while it is in flight. Apparently he thinks he can do it.  It doesn’t seem to bother him that the Afghanistan government has no money for an army even “if” one existed.  And how does Petraeus ever expect the afghanistan army to take over when even the most powerful, high tech country in the world…..hasn’t been able to make any real progress over nine years. He seems to have blinders on already….. apparently unfazed of the fact that the leader of Afghanistan  is running around trying to make deals with Pakistan in order to save his own hide and stay in power.
Pakistani officials say they can deliver the network of Sirajuddin Haqqani, an ally of al-Qaida, who runs a major part of the insurgency in Afghanistan, into a power-sharing arrangement. In addition, Afghan officials say, the Pakistanis are pushing various other proxies, with Pakistani army chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani personally offering to broker a deal with the Taliban.
One has to wonder why Gen David Petraeus believes that the USA should stay the course and continue shovelling young children soldiers in front of IED’s…. simply because they can’t admit that they should never have blundered into Afghanistan in the first place.
Can you imagine? ….their supposed ally …Pakistan (who only agreed to co – operate  in the first place because America paid them tens of billions of dollars) …is making deals with the Karzai government which will see an ally of al-Qaida share power in Afghanistan in a major way. It boggles the mind.
The media should make more of this point because that is what is happening. So.,… if you have any children in the army….you have to ask yourself if it is worth the price to send your children there to support the madness of this war.

Karzai will be forced to make a deal because he knows that America can’t possibly win.
The sooner Nato admits defeat …the less lives will be squandered.
