Barr of Spottes photos 2025

These are photos from Sept 20, 2025, the day that Deryk scattered his brother’s ashes from the old Roman Bridge on the farm in Scotland where the family had lived as children. John (“Jackie”) Houston died just over a year ago. Deryk and Elizabeth, Mary, Paul and Amara and Deryk’s cousin Ann Rooke visited the ruined cottage that was the family home. Then it was a beautiful but boggy trek through the fields (with cows and maybe a bull) to the stream and bridge.

These photos have been posted quickly for sharing and not edited or put in order unfortunately! Elizabeth took most of them and did the uploading (there a couple with her in them – Paul probably took those). Hopefully I’ll have a chance to work on all the photos and maybe annotate them sometime soon.
