They were warned and now, along with coalition members… they are wearing the mess.
\nIt has recently been admitted by the white house that this adventure by Obama was “primarily” acted upon to send a message to Iran. The US wanted to prove to Iran that when it speaks tough …it meant what it said.
\nHowever, Many people now believe that this gamble will only encourage Iran into embracing the idea of the need for a nuclear bomb. Hard liners in Israel believe that they are going to have to act alone and attack Iran before it gets the bomb. And so we stand the real chance for the two countries to be at war. Did the NDP think about this broader picture when it said it supported the bombing of Libya?
\nThe NDP apparently believe that all one has to do is cut out the bad apple and everything will be fine. Problem solved and everyone can go home.
\nI would have expected the NDP to understand that it is never about removing the bad apple. It is much broader than that. It is systems that create bad apples.
\nI’ve spoken about this before.
\nThe NDP have forgotten the lessons taught by teachers such as Gandhi and many others. Lessons learned through time and experience.
\nDo they deserve our votes and support?
\nHow can they claim to run a country if they can’t get this core issue right?
\nSeventy percent of NDP supporters do not support the war in Libya because they understand the best path to peace in the world.
\nOur NDP candidates have all let us down.
\nI challenge them to change their position. I want them to say very clearly that they made a mistake when they supported the action in Libya. I want to hear them say that they would direct their priorities into reforming the UN so that it would be next to impossible for a few countries to control the rest of the world.
\nI believe that a “fair” and democratic UN world body would save millions of civilians lives.
\nFanning the flames of a civil war, as we are doing in Libya at this time of writing, will result in large civilian losses and bitter suffering.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
The NDP of Canada has failed peace groups and supporters across the country by believing that fighter jets will solve the problem in Libya.
