Title of painting above: “A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes” (Gandhi)
It wasn’t that long ago that the Royal Canadian airforce used to bomb pods of whales simply for target practice.
No one in his right mind would ever think about doing that anymore, but it illustrates how our thinking and logic can change with perspective and time.
I believe that the wisdom of bombing Libya will eventually be found to be just as repugnant as the way we now view the bombing of the whale pods.
The Canadian fisheries used to use bazokas to kill the whales as well because they were eating too much fish. It seemed quite logical at the time.
I believe that the grandchildren of Canada’s minister of National defence, Peter MacKay, and Canada’s prime minister, Steven Harper, will also wonder what the hell their grandfathers were thinking about when they supported the bombing of another country in an attempt to murder another leader and bring about regime change….. even though that is very clearly spelled out as being against international law.
(Harper was the “Doofus” who came out of the big meeting and made the statement that everyone in the room understood that the goal was regime change)
