David Gergen is a senior political analyst for CNN and has served as an adviser to four U.S. presidents.
It is quite sickening to read David Gergen’s casual phrase when referring to the war in Libya….”Not bad for a summer’s work, not bad at all”.
His analysis ignores the reality of a country broken into a thousand pieces. Families lives ruined for generations as the reality of civil war takes root in the years ahead as tribes and groups struggle and try to squeeze the last drops of oil wealth from the ground. I can’t believe that a journalist like David could be so callous. He talks like everything will be over by this coming weekend.
Is he so naive that he can’t see that Libya will be a stinking, putrid mess for years to come… even if Gadhafi were dead right now?
Mr. Gergen’s comments is unfortunately a typical American simplistic viewpoint that has dragged the world into chaos in every corner.
This attack on Libya has not saved lives. In fact there will be many massacres in the coming years as a brutal civil war hardens peoples hearts and minds.
