Johnson Street Bridge…… “Kiss the Bridge”…this SUNDAY at NOON

The Johnson street, save the bridge group, has embraced my idea of creating a simple art project on the Johnson street Bridge in Victoria.BC. We have arranged a permit with the generous help of the city of Victoria. Our plan is to use the little park beside the bridge on the city side as a staging point. Some of us will be starting very early at round 7:30am…Sunday morning… and we will be blowing up one thousand balloons in groups of thirty balloons …..and ….with the help of around fifty people or more …we will walk onto the bridge with the groups of balloons.
The idea is to send a positive message. We want to show how much we love the bridge and how much it means to us as a piece of sculpture and as a part of Victoria’s history.
We have no intention to release the balloons and we will also be using balloons that degrade. No plastic clips will be used to close the balloons and the string will be cotton. I am inviting everyone down to the bridge to join us and take some balloons out onto the bridge. It really should be fun. I hope to play some music. The choice of music will be a surprise, but it will be guaranteed to place a smile on peoples faces. This will be a fun event about a serious subject. We want you to become involved in shaping your city and helping those involved make the right decision for our future through education and exchanges of ideas.
