Iran…. missile defense

It is interesting to see the big players trade back and forth for favors. The United States has just given Russia a gift when it changed it’s direction on the missile defense systems close to Russia’s borders. This would be a great thing for sure but now America will be placing huge pressure on Russia to ask them for something back. And what is the big prize that the States needs right now? The Russians co operation on Iran. Right now Russia does not want to place more sanctions on Iran because it trades with Iran and there are big gains for Russia being friends of Iran with it’s huge oil reserves. Nato also has to re invent itself and is wading into this tug of war as a way to do that. There will now be massive pressure placed on Iran and Russia will likely support that now that it owes something for the gift just handed to it by Obama. The problem is that these world leaders do not seem to be able to look further down the road than their noses. I do know that when you squeeze something it bulges out somewhere else. And what will happen if Iran is squeezed…..is that it’s more military leaders will simply decide that in order to be treated with respect then they might as well develop a nuclear bomb because they have nothing to lose anyway. So…on the surface …They will end up agreeing to the demands of the States and Israel …but end up shoving their nuclear facilities deeper underground as they go for the nuclear bomb option even though right now they have no intention of having a bomb.
It all seems to stupid that we can’t see how we are actually making things worse by demanding that they not have control over their fuel cycle completely for civilian uses.
