This subject is pretty minor compared to the worlds problems but I thought I would put it out there for people to know about. It concerns my HHR which I bought here in Victoria.
I noticed small “Dents” on the front hood and the roof and realized that it was being caused by the acorns falling from the branches above. I went to Dave Wheaton Pontiac Buick GMC Ltd in Victoria and spoke to Roy Stein ( service manager). His advice was not to park under the trees. (I guess that would also mean I shouldn’t drive down a street with acorns in the trees either) He said he would check with the company and find out if they could fix it for me but they said that it was an insurance problem, not a warranty problem. When I asked him why a new car would not be able to withstand the force of an acorn dropping from the tree, Mr. Stein suggested that it wasn’t the automobile companies fault because they had to make the cars lighter to meet the fuel efficiency requirements of today.
I have parked several types of vehicles in the same driveway for over twenty years and I have never had the car dented by acorns before. The HHR I have is dented and can’t take the force of a falling acorn without denting. My advice is don’t buy an HHR.
I intend to tweet this story every day and send it around to news media groups. If you are a journalist reading this I would be happy to talk further about this.
If you have had similar problems with your HHR then please contact me about a class action law suit I am working on.
Thank you for your time.
