Art Studio open

Open Art Studio – come by for a visit sometime.
As an artist, I firmly believe that private art galleries are the best way to represent my work. Over the past forty years I have tried my best to promote that idea.
The internet and personal web sites have dramatically shifted the realities of how artists conduct business but galleries still play a major role in an artists life.
If a client has seen a particular piece at a gallery, I always like to see them deal directly with the gallery to acquire the painting. I believe that being fair always comes back to you and all parties benefit.
I live on an island, in a small community, and so I also like to invite people to my studio to see my work.
I do not undercut the gallery prices because that would not be fair to the gallery.
Galleries are one of the best ways to buy an artists work because you would be able to view a larger selection of work.
The reason for visiting the studio would be to learn a bit more about the artist. It gives you the chance to see what drives the work and what the thinking is behind it all.
If you would like to come and see where I create, then please give me a call. I am usually around and would be happy to give you a tour of my informal studio.
You will see new works, unfinished works, the space, and also the little garden sculpture studio where my son and I create our steel sculptures for public art commissions.
My wife, Elizabeth Wellburn, also creates unusual glass windows. She melts individual pieces of glass in her kiln and then creates beautiful designs, using a special two component epoxy to adhere all the pieces to an old wood window. The result is very unique.
So lot’s to see.
