Steven Harper’s and Peter MacKay’s foolish adventure.

Steven Harper, Canada’s prime minister and our defense minister Peter MacKay are dragging Canada into an ill conceived war on another sovereign country.
Mr. Harper would like to claim that this is about believing in freedom or not. He said…..”One either believes in freedom or one just says one believes in freedom,” he added. “The Libyan people have shown through their sacrifice that they believe in it. Assisting them is a moral obligation upon those of us who profess this great ideal.”
and yet he nor Peter MacKay will ever attack Bahrain, Yeman, or Saudi Arabia who are also killing their own people. The reason is because Bahrain is home to America’s largest military base. And Saudi Arabia is one of America’s biggest allies in the region and home to the largest pot of oil in the world.
(Yemenis are furious that units from the US-backed Central Security Forces, commanded by one of Mr Saleh’s nephews, have played such a prominent role in cracking down on pro-democracy protests.
US-made CS gas canisters, allegedly intended for counter-terrorism operations, have also been used in raids against pro-democracy protesters.)
Mr. Harper is frankly, an idiot, to think that what is happening in Libya is about holding up the high moral ground. History will point this out as we move forward on this disaster as further wars and battles break out in the middle east and very possibly spread out of control around the world as emerging countries see opportunities and try to fill the vacuum.
I believe that Harper and MacKay are helping to lay the groundwork for a nightmare ahead.
