From 2013 to the present, a main project has been the Woodwynn Peace Garden at Woodwynn Farms, a therapeutic community for the homeless. The Peace Garden includes a labyrinth with herbs, fruits and vegetables incorporated.

I am currently featured at Art Works Gallery in Vancouver as well as Sooke Harbour House and my wife Elizabeth has her glass-on-glass mosaics there too.

and I also have work available at Merridale Cider and the Avens Gallery in Canmore Alberta.

The Universe and big telescopes

Well… is my big conundrum….the Big Bang. I am thrilled to see the new telescopes being built right now….they are huge and should tell us some new things about our universe and how it was formed. I don’t believe in the Big Bang. I know I have no right to have an opinion on this, but it just seems silly to believe that the Big Bang is the best model of the universe that we could come up with. There are huge problems with it as some people know very well. For example: Some stages of the model require light to travel faster than the speed of light in order for the math that supports this theory to hold up. That alone seems like the big elephant in the room.
Also…..can someone please e mail me and explain the following to me.
If we are building telescopes right now that will be able to peer back in time to the point of the first stars being born, and catch that first light that is “only now” arriving to where we are here… come we were able to get ahead of all this …… and be here “Already” ….set up to catch that first light on our telescopes? It seems to me that if it takes that light all this time to get to the point of space where we are now….. we should just be arriving here also. How did the particles or the energy to form our structure arrive ahead of this first light? Ha Ha….. it is such a strange thing. I believe that the big bang theory is as silly as the the idea when we thought that the earth was flat. I am just surprised at how many people buy into the idea. I know that I am probably just as crazy too:)
Do we really have any idea of how light behaves after travelling so far across these huge distances? Do we “honestly” understand how light would look after it has been stretched and altered by space itself expanding over such vast distances…. (The Big Bang requires space and Time itself to expand. These are “huge” ideas….I’m asking…. is there really anyone on this planet who honestly understand this concept).
When the astronomers describe the light travelling across these vast distances…they never seem to mention this expansion of space and time element in the discussion. They just talk about how long it takes light to travel from one point of the universe to the other. So when we are collecting this light that lands on our glass mirrors…… how far has it really travelled? What about the stretching of the space and time? What do we really have sitting on the glass mirror is what I am asking? What is that package of light really?
I know about the red shift and how that is used as evidence for the big bang…but couldn’t there also easily be some other explanation for why we are seeing this effect in the light? What about occam’s razor? It seems we also throw that idea out the window as well when it comes to choosing the simplest explanation for something. There couldn’t be a more complicated explanation than the Big Bang. It requires us to suspend all our beliefs of logic to buy into it’s ideas. So…to recap….. how did the matter that has taken millions of years to form the earth, ever get here ahead of the first light that is just now arriving to where we are now… did we get ahead of this and have time to form as a galaxy and planets and build our structures to catch the light that is apparently just arriving now?
I believe that there has to be some other explanation. I believe that space and time already existed. What happens to the information that we do know about the universe if we set it within those parameters. Just as a fun test….how would it look? What if?
What would the theories of the universe look like if we said that light does become red shifted for “some” other reason than proof of expansion. What do we get if we just plugged that in and thought about it in that way?
It makes as much sense that space already existed and that tiny bits of matter bursts out of nothing… like bubbles in an infinite sized can of coke, than it does to buy into the idea that “everything” , including space and time, was contained in one point of singularity and suddenly burst out in an outward direction, creating the actual space and time ahead of it, as is claimed by the Big Bang theory. In either theory, it still makes one wonder how anyone could doubt the hand of God exists in some form. The whole thing is a miracle. Don’t waste a day of your lives. Demand that your government return your child soldiers from Afghanistan where they are supporting a government that is not only corrupt, but also  introduces laws that allow a man to starve his wife if she refuses him sex.  Life is much  too precious.
