Title: “Elizabeth at Point No Point”
Medium: Acrylic on deep canvas (No frame required)
Size:30″X40″
Price:$3,500.00 retail (unfamed…. canvas is mounted on deep stretcher bars. )
I love Point No Point and the beach there. In this painting I have tried to make the landscape outside as much a part of the scene as the interior. That is what it is like there. The beach is ever present with the sounds of it’s crashing waves and changing scene.

“Across the Fields”
Title:”Across the Fields”
Medium: Acrylic on canvas
Size:30″X30″
Price: $2,900.00 retail framed
I enjoy thinking of the landscape from an elevated point of view. I always try to imagine what the fields would look like if I were to rise up and view things from that perspective. I’m not sure why I want to do this but perhaps it is because we need to explore and see what is just over the horizon.

Title: “Community”
Medium:Acrylic on canvas
Size:24″X30″
Price: $2,000.00 framed
I have always liked the view of soaring above the landscape. I bend the shapes and take liberties with the perspective. Community is important to most of us and my work reinforces the idea of generations and families trying to live together in peace. Children seem to do this best. They simply enjoy the experience of exploration and play.

Tractor series paintings at The Old School House Arts Centre JUNE14th – JULY 11th, 2010
Artist statement:
Tractors always fascinated me when I was a young boy growing up on the farm in Scotland. I loved the smell of the diesel and the rubber tires in the hot summer sun. We would sit with our backs to the big black wheels and share lunch with the farm hands.
As an artist, I admire how tractors easily tear up the fertile earth and prepare the ground for the next generation of seeds to flourish and grow. This idea runs through all my work.
